Last Wednesday Luke had his 2 week check up! At birth Luke weighed 7lbs 9oz and had dropped to 6lbs 11 oz when we left the hospital. The hospital had measured him at 18 inches long, but we found out that was probably inaccurate since he was breech and the nurses couldn't pull his legs down long enough for an exact length. At his 2 week check up Luke weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. Chris and I looked at each other and said is it normal for a baby to grow that much in 2 weeks? That's when our pediatrician said he was probably longer when he was born they just didn't get the exact length. Luke's stats put him in the 75th percentile for height 50th percentile for weight and 10th percentile for head size...that's right Luke has a little peanut head just like his Uncle AJ! :)
Breastfeeding has been going well, a little challenging at times but it seems as if we are getting the hang of it now. I was glad to see that he had gained weight since that shows me that he is getting enough from mommy. During a period of a couple of days when we were having troubles I pumped milk and daddy was able to feed him. Luke now does well breastfeeding and taking pumped milk from a bottle.

Congratulations Anita! I am so happy for you and your cute famiy. You are going to be a wonderful mother and I am proud of you for breastfeeding Luke, its always hard at first, but he will get the hang of it!
